The Portland Church of Christ sent 22 members with 13 North View Church of Christ members to help the Andrews Church of Christ in North Carolina with children’s ministry — and church construction.

During the day, the mission team built a ramp and 55-foot sidewalk for elderly church members of the Andrews church. In the evenings, the group hosted a community Vacation Bible School.

TEXAS

AMARILLO — After offering a reward of $10,000 through Amarillo Crime Stoppers, police identified a suspect believed to be responsible for vandalizing the Central Church of Christ.

Police reported that a vandal had caused substantial damage to the church’s interior using a knife during the June 27 break-in.

The damage included carving Satanic images into the walls, doors and chairs. The vandal also broke several electronic devices and light fixtures.

Police described the suspect as a slim White male wearing a black hood over his face with the eyes cut out at the time of the crime.

Two other Amarillo churches were also targets of vandalism in May and June. The Amarillo Police Department Burglary Unit continues to investigate.
