Here’s “Holy Spirit,” written by a husband and wife duo Bryan and Katie Torwalt. First up is a clip from the song sung by the Acappella Company’s Praise and Harmony singers. You can see the full version with a subscription to their praiseandharmony.tv streaming service.

In the presence of our Father, everything changes. The hopeless sees hope again. The shame that we once had is undone. The broken heart is healed and the slaves are freed. In the Spirit we feel love, peace, freedom and light even in the midst of a world full of darkness, anger, anxiety and hate.

This song has become a prayer for me.

Jesus took the heavy burdens away. He took our shame and guilt away so we could be redeemed and freed. He brought salvation, forgiveness and freedom.

God’s Holy Spirit dwells in us. We, as disciples of Jesus Christ, are the Temple of God on earth, which is no more an actual building like the tabernacle, but his holy and chosen people. We no longer live, but Jesus lives in us through the Holy Spirit (Galatians 2:20). He directs us, showing us the way, to proclaim God’s goodness, preaching the Gospel to the nations and building up the church.

I am so thankful for God giving me his Spirit to guide me toward his will and plan for my life in order to fulfill his purpose and to praise and glorify my Creator.

This song has become a prayer for me. My daily desire is to dwell in his presence, gazing upon his beauty and majesty, praising him all day long for who he is, giving thanks for all that he has done in my life (Psalm 27:4: “One thing I ask from the Lord … that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all days of my life to gaze on the beauty of the Lord”).
