Voices only: ‘To God be the Glory’

Here’s “To God be the Glory,” written by the legendary Fanny J. Crosby and sung by the Acappella Company’s Praise and Harmony singers.

This beautiful hymn reminds us that we were created to give God all of the glory — in our relationship with him and with others. We were created to proclaim God’s majesty, to rejoice in his name. All day long, we strive to adopt a posture of praising him.

This song reminds me of Psalm 89:16, “They rejoice in your name all day long; they celebrate your righteousness.” This leads me to ask a question to myself: Am I rejoicing and celebrating in his name? Or am I complaining all day long?

We have more reasons to rejoice in the name of the Lord than reasons to complain. He has done great things in our lives. It is hard to count every single blessing that he pours into our lives because there are so many.

He has loved us so much that he sent his only son to save us, to restore us, to atone for our sins, to redeem us and to “open the life gate that all may go in.”

Let’s praise the Lord! Let’s proclaim his love and kindness so that all people can hear his sweet and great voice!
