Warren G. Blakney Sr.’s long fight for racial equality stretches…
The case of Jacob Blake, a Black man shot seven times in the back by police in Kenosha, Wis., was the focus of a Christian Chronicle panel discussion today.
Other topics of the hour-long dialogue included the Black Lives Matter movement, policing questions and issues of law and order.
Panelists were:
• Sammie Berry, minister and elder of the Dallas West Church of Christ.
• Verlon Johnson, member of the Park Forest Church of Christ in Matteson, Ill.
• Ben Peterson, member of the A&M Church of Christ in College Station, Texas.
• Kevin Redd, minister for the Millington Church of Christ in Tennessee.
This was the latest in a series of panels organized by the Chronicle since the May 25 death of George Floyd in Minneapolis police custody. Find links to all the panels.
