Restoring the Restoration, The Christian Church: What Went Wrong?

The author is a graduate of Abilene Christian University. He majored in Business, and minored in Bible. For these many years he has been a student of the Protestant and Catholic histories. This included the early Apostolic church (“Great Church”) which existed from Pentecost (after Christ’s resurrection) until approximately 400 AD. The author has had a blessed military, business, and government career which culminated as the sitting County Judge for Atascosa County, Texas which he retired from Atascosa County in 2022. In retirement he has taken the time to write the book that has been on his heart which addresses the mess mankind has made out of Christ’s Church.

This book focuses on reformation efforts in the American Culture by the various Protestant sects who, Alexander Campbell noted, tried to reform rather than restore. So, the writer spends time on the purest restorationists, the “Stone-Campbell” movement. He examines the failures and successes of those movements who are now experiencing significant (30-40%) losses in membership since 1985.
