The Howard Norton Endowment
Help The Christian Chronicle honor the legacy of Howard Norton, a renowned evangelist, missionary and Christian educator. Norton served as editor of the Chronicle from 1981 to 1996 and left behind a legacy of love for the Lord and a global vision for Churches of Christ.
Endowment income provides funds for the Chronicle it report on Christians in Latin America, where Norton and his wife, Jane, dedicated decades of their lift to spreading the Gospel — as part of a pioneering mission team to Brazil and as educators and administrators of Baxter Institute in Honduras.
Income also provides for the Norton Colloquium, an effort to promote robust discussion of the issues the Nortons cared about deeply. The Colloquium, through partnerships with churches, Christian universities and other nonprofits, provides guest speakers and panel discussions throughout the year.
